The Central Statistical Office (GUS) reports that in 2016, over 80% of foreign capital was located in five voivodships. As in 2015, almost a half in the Mazowieckie voivodship (47.4%) and over one third (36.6%) in the following four voivodships: Wielkopolskie (11.7%), Dolnośląskie (8.4%), Śląskie (8.3%) and Małopolskie (8.2%). The share of foreign capital in any of the other 11 voivodships did not exceed 4% of the total value of this capital invested in Poland. The highest foreign capital increase in comparison to 2015 was recorded in the Małopolskie voivodship (by 30.5%) and Podlaskie voivodship (by 22.6%). The decrease was recorded in 6 voivodships, the highest in Podkarpackie voivodship (by 55.0%) and Zachodniopomorskie voivodship (by 14.4%).
