On the 4th - 6th of October 2017 in Munich, the EXPO REAL fair - Europe's largest real estate event, beside MIPIM in Cannes, France – took place. More than 40,500 exhibitors, people from 75 countries around the world and the 2003 exhibitors attended the fairs, which was the record of this event. Such a large number of visitors to the fair gives you the opportunity to make many valuable contacts. Among them are representatives of international corporations and smaller companies, as well as representatives of the real estate industry, developers and project managers, property consultants and real estate agents, architects and planners. Representatives from other regions were also present. At the specially prepared stand of Małopolska, people interested in the investment offer of our region could learn more, among other things, thanks to meetings with a representative of Małopolska’s COIE on the possibility of investing in the Małopolskie voivodeship, whether in the sector of modern business services and IT or traditional forms of industry. Visitors were interested in the offer of economic activity zones, investment incentives, mainly in the form of a special economic zone, the position of Małopolska and Krakow in the rankings of investment attractiveness. One could also find out about the region's tourist attractions.
EXPO REAL in Munich is a great opportunity to show foreign investors the opportunities Malopolska gives them. The economic potential of our region is huge. Thanks to the EU founds support, many communes prepared the economic activity zones – the offer of ready-to-invest areas for entrepreneurs. Krakow, which is still at the forefront of not only European but also world-class attractiveness for the modern business services and IT sector, still has the potential to receive further investments in this sector. In Krakow, where the total stock of modern office space has already exceeded 1 million sq. m, there are still around 250 thousand sq. m of modern office space under construction.
At the fair, apart from Małopolskie Voivodship, Małopolska Regional Development Agency S.A. and Krakow Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A. (Krakow Nowa Huta of the Furture) presented their offer. The second one promoted project of reindustrialization of about 550 ha of land in the vicinity of the steelworks in Nowa Huta.
The stand attracted not only entrepreneurs interested in investing in the Małopolskie Voivodeship, but also people accidentally attracted by the exhibition or catalogs of tourist attractions.
In the summary of the fair organizers listed Poland as one of the leading exhibitors after Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. The stands of the regions, cities and entrepreneurs from our country were concentrated in one hall and, with a few exceptions, along one aisle, making them stand out and presenting a strong single economic offer.
