The ranking is carried out by fDi Intelligence, a branch of the Financial Times specializing in global investment market analysis. This time Małopolska was ranked 6th among all the European regions of medium size (number of inhabitants: 1-4 million) in the "FDI Strategy" category, i. e. due to the activities undertaken to acquire new foreign investments.
Before Małopolska, the capital city region of Copenhagen, the Manchester region, the Dutch Brabant, Serbian Vojvodina and Belgian Wallonia were classified.
It should be noted that the evaluation concerns regions from many countries, including countries outside the European Union, for example, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and some Balkan countries. In total, about 300 regions participating in the ranking are analysed.
